Introduction

C.N.K. Reddy College of Pharmacy was started in the year 1991 under K.M.J. Educational Trust.

The 4-storied building complex is a well-planned structure with spacious lecture halls, well-equipped laboratories and a spacious library adequate provision has been made for student and staff amenities.

Eligibility for Admission

Candidate who have passed the two year Pre University Examination of Karnataka PUC Board/10+2 with PCM/PCB. Or an equivalent examination of any other approved Board or University in (a) PCMB (b) PCM (c) PCB with 50% marks.

OR

The final D.Pharma examination of the two year D.Pharm course conducted by an authority approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.

(The candidates who are Diploma holders of Pharmacy (D.Pharma) are exempted and they can get admitted to II year B.Pharma directly)

Duration of Course

The duration of the B.Pharmacy Course is 4 Academic Years.

Examinations

Sessional Examination:

THEORY : Three Sessional examinations are conducted during each academic year in each subject and the average marks of the two best examinations.

PRACTICAL RECORD MARKS : Marks shall be based on the practical ability of the student in perfectly doing the practical and also based on Viva-Voce.

Annual Examination:

Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences conducts the annual examinations in the month of September/October or any date fixed by the University.

Supplementary Examination:

Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences conducts supplimentary examinations during the month of March/April or any date fixed by the University.

Practical Training

Every candidate shall undergo a practical training in a pharmaceutical manufacturing house for a period of not less than 400 hours to be completed in not less than two months any time after passing III B.Pharma examinations and submit a Training Report to the Head of the Institution. The degree to a successful candidate shall be awarded by the University after his/her producing a certificate of training from the head of the respective faculty and duly accepted and certified by the head of the institution conducting the B.Pharma course.

Industrial Tour

Candidates Studying in Final year of the course shall visit several Pharmaceutical/ Manufacturing/ and software companies as supplement to their academic training and submit a report to the satisfaction of the head of the institution.

Classification of Results

Results shall be classified on the basis of the aggregate marks secured in all the Four University examinations put together as shown bellow:
  1. Distinction - 75% and above
  2. I Class - 60% and above
  3. II Class - 50% and above, less than 60%

Ranks and Medals shall be awarded on the basis of aggregate of all the Four University Examination and candidates should have completed the B.Pharma course in prescribed (minimum) number of years as per Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science norms. However the candidate who fail in one or more subjects during the B.Pharm courses are not eligible for award of ranks.
